A. EPSTEIN AND SONS INTERNATIONAL, INC. EXPANDS U.S. PRESENCE: OPENS SAN ANTONIO OFFICE
A. Epstein and Sons International, Inc.(Epstein), the Chicago-based architecture, engineering, construction, interior design and graphic design firm, announces the opening of its San Antonio office. The announcement was made by Mickey Kupperman, Epstein's vice chairman and ceo.
"We recognize the strong economic growth San Antonio is experiencing and the need for new or rehabilitated facilities that accompany such growth," stated Kupperman. "As our architectural and engineering presence in San Antonio and Texas expands, it makes sense for Epstein to establish a foothold here to best serve our clients."
Epstein's San Antonio office will be headed by senior vice president Elizabeth M. (Betty) Feldman, AIA, a former Epstein architect who joined the firm in the 1970's, opened Epstein's Los Angeles office in the 1980's and returns to head the San Antonio facility.
"My goal always has been to return to Texas and use my years of architectural experience to design and build projects in my home state," said Feldman. "The opening of Epstein's newest office will enable me to provide architectural expertise to San Antonio and the entire south Texas marketplace as these areas grow and expand."
Feldman was raised in Austin and practiced architecture in the Chicago area after graduating from the University of Texas. She headed Epstein's expansion to the west coast by opening their Los Angeles office in the early 1980's. After receiving an MBA from the University of San Francisco and practicing in San Francisco, Feldman returned to San Antonio where she held positions with Kell Munoz and Carter Burgess before returning to Epstein.
Feldman is active in various community organizations and currently serves on the board of directors of the San Antonio Zoo, the 2004 Community Advisory Board of the San Antonio Express-News and holds committee positions with the Architects Institute of America (AIA) and International Facility Management Association (IFMA). She is married with two daughters.
A. Epstein and Sons International, Inc. was founded in 1921 and maintains its Chicago headquarters along with offices in Los Angeles, California; San Antonio, Texas; Warsaw, Poland; and Tel Aviv, Haifa and Beersheba in Israel. The Epstein family of companies includes ISI, the firm's interior design unit and annex|5, the firm's in-house design studio.
Epstein currently is leading two of Chicago's largest construction projects, serving as architect and engineer of record for the McCormick Place Convention Center West Expansion (as a member of the Mc4West, LLC team) and architect of record for the 48-story Hyatt Center Office Tower.
