INTERIOR SPACE INTERNATIONAL (ISI) SELECTED AS INTERIOR DESIGNER FOR
EXELON'S NEW CORPORATE HEADQUARTERS

A. Epstein and Sons International, Inc. today announced that Interior Space International (ISI), the firm’s award-winning interior design group, has been selected as the interior designer for Exelon’s new consolidated headquarters planned for downtown Chicago’s Bank One Plaza. Exelon Corporation is one of the nation’s largest electric utilities.

“We are very excited to be working with one of the country’s largest utilities to design a space that is aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sensitive,” said ISI senior vice president Dennis Kluge. “This project provides ISI the opportunity to develop a space that meets the goals of Exelon’s leadership for its employees while addressing important green building issues.”

ISI’s design for the new space will emphasize elements of sustainable design and energy efficiency using criteria established by the U.S. Green Building’s Council’s Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED™) program. Exelon is consolidating its existing three downtown locations to support productivity by eliminating travel times among these offices, reducing long-term occupancy costs and achieving a LEED™ silver-plus status for the new space.

Kluge said ISI’s ultimate design will reflect one of Exelon’s goals of providing close to 100% of its employees with seated views and abundant natural light. Additionally, ISI will design a space that is both timeless in its appeal and easy to maintain given Exelon’s proposed long-term lease at its new location.

“ISI will work very closely with Exelon’s leaders to meet their commitment of developing a space for their employees that provides a productive atmosphere,” said Kluge. “Exelon recognizes that a positive work atmosphere is very important for its employees and ultimately the entire company to succeed.”

ISI currently is in the space planning and schematic design phase including the design of floor layouts, establishing LEED™ objectives with the LEED™ consultant and identifying furniture and finish selections. Exelon is negotiating to occupy approximately 200,000 to 250,000 square feet at Bank One Plaza by early 2007.
