Leung Joins Epstein as Director of MEP Engineering
A. Epstein and Sons International, Inc. announced that Luke Leung, P.E., LEED AP has joined the architecture/engineering/construction firm as Director of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Engineering. A LEED-accredited professional with an extensive background in sustainable design, Leung has more than 18 years of experience in the engineering of MEP and fire protection systems for office buildings, hotels, residential developments, medical facilities and museums/performing arts structures.
As Director of MEP Engineering, Leung will provide management and direction for Epstein’s MEP engineers, who specialize in the design of sustainable systems and building systems including electrical, refrigeration, HVAC, steam, compressed air, water, fire protection and lighting design. His responsibilities involve conceptual guidance, design expertise and technical administration for the business unit as well as profitability/strategy management. He will report to John R. Patelski, P.E., LEED AP, Executive Managing Director and President, Engineering and Construction.
Prior to joining Epstein, Leung was Associate Partner in the Building Services/ Sustainable Design Department at Skidmore, Owings & Merrill LLP. He was responsible for leading the MEP building service system design and specification team from conception through construction. Significant projects include General Motors Global Headquarters in Detroit (the largest renovation in the US at the time of design), Burj Dubai (the tallest building in the world), A confidential tower in US (ongoing and conceptually the tallest building in US), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Headquarters (headquarters for one of the four largest bank in China), American Hospital at Dubai, Beijing Finance Street Towers (a 6 million square foot office, residential, retail and hotel complex) and LG Beijing (a 1.6 million square foot headquarters for LG Electronics in China). Leung’s projects have won several awards for Excellence in Engineering from the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating & Air Conditioning Engineers.
