ISI provided full interior
design services for the interior tenant build-out for
a new 250,000 square foot Exelon Corporation corporate
headquarters in downtown Chicago. The 10-floor project
includes state-of-the-art sustainable design features
such as extremely efficient lighting utilizing a direct/indirect
lighting system with controllable task lighting for
every employee. Materials were chosen for recycled content
and manufactured locally. Plumbing fixtures were chosen
to significantly reduce water consumption as compared
to standard City of Chicago code. Exelon saved resources
by reusing a significant amount of furniture from its
old locations. Indoor air quality was a major importance
in this project, therefore materials were selected to
have low or no VOCs. The ultimate design provides nearly
all Exelon employees with seated views and abundant
natural light. ISI designed a space that is both timeless
in its appeal and easy to maintain given Exelon's proposed
long-term lease at its new location. ISI worked closely
with Exelon leaders to meet their commitment of developing
a space for employees that provides a productive atmosphere.
