Believed to be the only one of its kind in the United States, the Naperville Auto Test Track is a 7-acre facility located in Naperville, Illinois which provides a way for automobile customers to safely test drive passenger cars, light trucks and sport utility vehicles in a closed environment. Epstein's designers were challenged in their design of the exterior lighting by coordinating the City of Naperville exterior ordinances and the IESNA recommended light levels. Epstein's staff had to develop solutions that would provide for the best result which satisfied the City's codes and the IESNA's recommendations. Epstein selected full cutoff luminaires with flat lenses which were chosen to reduce sky glow, light pollution and glare. Epstein lighting designers developed a strategic placement for the poles with the right selection of reflectors in the fixtures to get best results.
