Epstein’s material handling engineers developed a system in Chicago, Illinois that selects from 40,000 aircraft parts stored in a three-aisle mini-load Automatic Storage/Retrieval System, and transports the appropriate part, within seven minutes, to waiting planes via an inverted monorail system. This system helps to assure on-time departures and reduces costly downtime.
