Epstein is providing full professional design services, including architectural, civil and MEP/FP engineering for a new $240M, 42-story Hotel and Condominium building along Chicago’s “Magnificent Mile” at 150 E. Ontario St. The project includes a new boutique Marriott "Edition" hotel of 325 keys, with a Sky-lobby, full-floor Spa and Club-Restaurant. The building will also include 25 high-end condominiums, from 1-bedroom units to 4-bedroom duplex penthouses. There are two other fine-dining restaurants at ground level and level two, and valet-parking for 180 cars. The building will feature sustainable design including a 40-foot-tall pyramidal wind farm with numerous turbines. Other sustainable design elements include recycling of rain water and a 100% green roof which will help reduce the “Heat Island Effect” that can increase energy demand and air conditioning costs on residents, as well as help reduce air pollution levels. 150 East Ontario is expected to pursue LEED-NC Certification.
