Epstein
was the Architect/Engineer of Record for the design
of a new three-level, 1,500 car underground parking
garage and connecting lobby linked to the existing Museum
located in Chicago, Illinois. The garage was designed
to enhance the museum visitors’ experience by
careful attention to systems and detail. The lobby includes
ticketing facilities as well as a new museum store and
visitor amenities. The design utilizes the slurry technique,
a construction method that reinforces the structure
and prevents water from Lake Michigan from seeping into
the garage.
